{ DIY } Fentimans Candle Holder

21 Dec 2012

I've been drinking up a storm, not the alcohol kind .. just yet! BUT the Fentiman's botanically brewed beverages, I do love a good fizzy drink and you can't beat these fine ol' naturally flavored beverages, they come in delightful old style clear glass bottles, with a screw top lid with delightful vintage packaging. So I decided to use these bottles to create a DIY bottle candle holder

I had to shave some of the wax off the bottom of the candles, since the candles I had stored, were a tad little thick to insert into the bottle top. In the end a super easy homemade DIY, that will be placed somewhere as a decorative centerpiece. :)

My final post before plump and jolly Saint Nicholas pays a visit ! "Happy Holidays to all, and to all much love and good-night!" X

LUXIRARE SHOE REPAIR

20 Sept 2011

My favorite immensely stylish and put-together food + fashion blog, Luxirare, remains as highly inventive as ever, the mysterious Ji Kim perpetually takes impossible ideas and makes them real, here is another insanely super creation for which the shoes she had brought from Etsy became over-worn and ergo decided to give them a new makeover.  To see all the steps from Beginning to End go here.

{DIY} Spike Hair Comb

31 Aug 2011

August is almost over (sniff sniff) but not before I share this super DIY by the primo pair Erica and Lauren of  Honestly WTF. They have DIY’d Maison Michel’s metal spike comb, seen in Paris below. As for DIY's, this one looks completely do-able, even I couldn't possibly mess this up, Uh-oh, now I said it .. anti jinx potion needed, yes not a little superstitious.

You’ll need:
liquid super glue (not gel)

Start by adding a small amount of liquid super glue to one end of the comb. Place a metal spike on top of the glue and hold it in place for at least 30 seconds. Let it dry completely before letting go.

Glue another spike to the other end of the comb. Then, using a ruler, place the rest of the spikes along the length of the comb to make sure there is enough spacing between each spike.

Continue glueing each spike, alternating from one side to another.

Stick the spiked comb in a bed of teased and tousled hair!

Tumblr PS I made this

22 Feb 2010

While thumb through wandering online, I found Tumblr to be a free wheeling and less commitment minded place, with oodles of constant inspiration without the titles and comments form. So on a whim I decided to join, as a side project by creating the odd post on a impulse..but prime of all I get to appreciate some of the creative cream of Tumblr. That is when I came across PS I made this, a do-it-yourself blog giving readers ideas for DIY projects, she makes everything look so easy to recreate....

P.S. - I Made This...

is a movement.
It’s a call to action to re-imagine, re-use, and re-invent.
I see it.     I like it.     I make it.
